SCGD x COTTO is hosting a major event showcasing innovative products including tiles, sanitary ware, and faucets that cater to the lifestyle of creating beautiful living spaces while minimizing environmental impact for sustainable development. The theme “Reform the New Sustainability, Made by You” emphasizes the importance of addressing climate change through their booth at Architect '67, taking place from April 30 to May 5 at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani. This event reaffirms their leadership in surface decoration and sanitary products in ASEAN, aiming for NET ZERO Carbon Emission by 2050.

Mr. Namphol Malichai, CEO and Managing Director of SCG Decor Co., Ltd. (SCGD), stated that the current climate change is a challenge that requires collective action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As leaders in the market for surface decoration and sanitary products in ASEAN, SCGD and COTTO prioritize sustainable development at every stage of the production process by increasing the use of alternative energy, utilizing low-carbon energy, biomass energy, and managing a circular economy. They aim to create value from waste, improve production technology for efficiency, and minimize environmental impact to enhance the quality of life for people in society, striving towards becoming a NET ZERO Carbon Emission organization by 2050.

Recently, SCGD and COTTO have collaborated to present a variety of surface decoration products, sanitary ware, faucets, and bathroom accessories at their booth at Architect '67. This year's booth design reflects the inspiration drawn from the global climate change issue, represented through the melting shapes of icebergs, which are a consequence of global warming, under the concept of COTTO “Reform the New Sustainability, Made by You”, dividing the space into four main halls:

1) SEA REFORM reflects the issue of rising sea levels, averaging 3-5 millimeters per year due to melting glaciers, impacting coastal ecosystems. The first hall showcases natural stone surface decoration materials in the “STONE DECOR COLLECTION,” produced using advanced technology to achieve a thickness of only 1.5-2 millimeters, notable for its thinness, curved edges, and wave shapes, while being durable against scratches. Additionally, there is a range of decorative tiles in the “ECO Collection” that reduces the use of new resources by up to 50%, along with sanitary ware, faucets, and Smart Lifestyle Bathroom products like the VIZIO Smart Toilet with Double Protection, Smart LED & Bluetooth Mirror, and Smart Shower.

2) LAND REFORM presents a design where everything is elevated above ground, reflecting the impact of flooding that submerges land. This hall features wall and ceiling products like Ultra Veneer Flooring - LT By COTTO, which is endorsed by SCG GREEN CHOICE, promoting environmental sustainability and good hygiene, saving energy, reducing global warming, and minimizing natural resource use, with a longer lifespan and certification from VIRGIN MATERIALS confirming it is free from hazardous chemicals and formaldehyde, employing a Zero Waste production process.

3) TEMPERATURE REFORM reflects the issue of rising temperatures, averaging an increase of 1.2 degrees Celsius per year, showcasing decorative tiles in warm and cool tones to highlight the differences in shades, along with ambient light coatings. Additionally, the “X-Strong Collection” features scratch-resistant tiles that can bear significant weight, along with the latest sanitary ware and faucets from the “KLIRR Collection.”

4) TIDES REFORM reflects the issue of changing water currents, significantly impacted by climate change and human actions that have direct and indirect effects on marine ecosystems, showcasing various sizes and new colors of faucets and bathroom decoration products.

Additionally, the lobby area simulates a design that reflects melting glaciers, impacting the environment through various products such as the Clay Decor Collection, which has received GREENGUARD certification (for volatile organic compounds), GREEN LABEL SINGAPORE, and CE and European Fire Testing Classification, along with the X-Strong Collection of scratch-resistant and heavy-duty tiles, and LT by COTTO - Decor Wall products.

“COTTO takes the issue of global climate change seriously by developing production processes that focus on minimizing environmental impact from start to finish for sustainable development and improving the quality of life for everyone on the planet, aiming to become a NET ZERO Carbon Emission organization by 2050,” Mr. Namphol stated.
